Balochistan Liberation Army Claims 22 Attacks Across Pakistan

The Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for 22 attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure to seek regional independence.

The Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for 22 attacks across Balochistan over an eight-day period ending August 17, 2026. The separatist group targeted police installations, railway infrastructure, and commercial vehicles in districts including Chagai, Kharan, Panjgur, Nushki, Turbat, and Quetta. The group alleges that 26 Pakistani security personnel were killed, including 20 in IED attacks in Kalat and Soorab.

The BLA described these operations as retaliation for an alleged Pakistani airstrike in Soorab that it claims killed or injured 27 civilians. However, Pakistani authorities provided a different account, reporting that an August 12 operation killed 10 militants and a premature car-bomb explosion in Soorab killed eight militants and three civilians.

In addition to the attacks, the BLA announced the death of a commander it characterized as a death squad leader in Buleda. The group stated it will continue its armed campaign until it achieves the independence of Balochistan.
