The United States Department of Energy issued a mandate requiring Centralia Unit 2, a power plant located in Washington State, to remain available for operation for an additional 90 days. This order extends the facility's operational availability through December 12, 2026.

TransAlta Centralia Generation LLC, a subsidiary of TransAlta Corporation, received the order and confirmed it will comply. The company is currently coordinating the extension with the federal government and the Washington state government to ensure the plant remains available for the specified period.
