Michael Saylor Signals Strategy Inc. May Resume Bitcoin Purchases
Michael Saylor suggested Strategy Inc. will resume buying Bitcoin after a two-month pause, following a price rebound to 80,000 dollars.
Michael Saylor, an executive at Strategy Inc., sparked speculation on Sunday that the company will resume purchasing Bitcoin. Saylor posted the firm's accumulation chart on X with the caption "We’re ₿ack," a behavior that has historically preceded official purchase disclosures on Mondays.
Strategy Inc. is the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin globally, with 840,447 BTC valued at more than 72 billion dollars. The company paused acquisitions on June 22 to prioritize balance sheet management and capital raising. During this period, the firm began selling Bitcoin, a move that contradicted its previous investment thesis to never sell the asset. The company currently faces nearly 9 billion dollars in unrealized losses.
This potential return to buying follows a late August rebound in the cryptocurrency market, which saw Bitcoin reach a price of 80,000 dollars.
