XRP Outperforms Bitcoin but Trails Ethereum in Tokenization

XRP gained 37% over 90 days, slightly outpacing Bitcoin while struggling to close the gap with Ethereum in institutional tokenization and stablecoin adoption.

The XRP Ledger has seen its native token gain 37% over the last 90 days, slightly outperforming Bitcoin's 36% growth during the same window. Despite this upward momentum, the token trades between $1.49 and $1.50, which remains approximately 59% below its all-time high of $3.65. The asset currently faces a critical resistance zone as it tests the level of institutional demand.

While the protocol competes in the payments and tokenization sectors, it trails significantly behind market leaders. The XRP Ledger holds $499 million in freely transferable tokenized assets, a small fraction of the $16.7 billion held on Ethereum. Similarly, the network accounts for only 0.4% of all circulating stablecoins, representing $1.3 billion of a $305.7 billion total market.

Analysts suggest that increased network activity may not directly drive token price increases. This is attributed to the protocol's design, which destroys transaction fees and lacks a buyback mechanism to create upward price pressure.
