Tanzania and China Affirm Defense Partnership at PLA Anniversary
Tanzanian Defense Minister Rhimo Nyansaho reaffirmed the strategic military partnership with China during a reception commemorating the 99th anniversary of the People's Liberation Army.
Rhimo Nyansaho, Tanzania's Minister of Defense and National Service, described the defense partnership between China and Tanzania as a cornerstone of bilateral relations during a diplomatic reception on July 22, 2026. The event, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Dar es Salaam, commemorated the 99th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army.
Nyansaho stated that military training, technology transfer, and capacity building through this cooperation have directly enhanced Tanzania's national security. He emphasized that the relationship strengthens defense and security while reinforcing the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
Chinese Ambassador Chen Mingjian highlighted the historical sacrifices of the People's Liberation Army and noted that the existing friendship between the two nations provides a solid foundation for continued strategic cooperation.
