Hyundai Motor India Integrates 30,000 EV Charging Points

Hyundai Motor India Limited integrated 30,000 charging points into its app and plans to launch a mass-market electric SUV this fiscal year.

Hyundai Motor India Limited integrated more than 30,000 electric vehicle charging points nationwide into its myHyundai app to expand the country's charging ecosystem. Developed through partnerships with various operators, the network is open to all EV brands and allows users to locate, book, and pay for sessions via a single interface. The infrastructure covers major highway corridors, including Delhi-Gurgaon-Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru, and Chennai-Bengaluru, with facilities located within an average radius of 25 km.

This expansion supports the company's plan to launch its first mass-market electric SUV during the current financial year. The new vehicle will target the sub-Rs 15 lakh segment, shifting the company's strategy from a focus on the premium EV market toward more affordable options. Hyundai has sold approximately 3,000 electric vehicles in India so far this calendar year.

To further support the rollout and meet CAFE III emission norms, the company is prioritizing component localization and expanding its proprietary DC fast-charging network from 183 stations to 600 by 2030.
