Nvidia Projects Hyperscaler Spending to Hit $1.3 Trillion by 2027

Colette Kress, the Chief Financial Officer of Nvidia, announced that capital expenditure by the top five hyperscalers is projected to reach $800 billion in 2026 and $1.3 trillion in 2027. This forecast accelerates previous market consensus, which had estimated the $1.3 trillion threshold would not be reached until 2028.

The projection coincides with a recovery in the technology sector following a period of aggressive de-grossing. Software stocks have broken above previous highs, signaling a shift toward AI monetization. This positive outlook is further supported by strong demand for Nvidia products and accelerating AI inference usage in China.

Market analysts describe the current setup for tech stocks as constructive. However, they note that this stability depends on the upcoming Jackson Hole symposium avoiding a genuine hawkish surprise. Other factors contributing to the improved sector environment include stabilizing conditions in the Strait of Hormuz.
