Amazon Adds 100 Shopping Features to Alexa AI
Amazon updated its Alexa AI assistant with over 100 new shopping capabilities to help United States customers manage orders and subscriptions during the holiday season.
Amazon.com introduced more than 100 new shopping-related capabilities to its Alexa AI assistant to prepare for the holiday season. These updates expand the functionality of the Alexa for Shopping assistant originally launched in May, allowing users to create and edit gift registries and shopping lists, manage recurring subscriptions, and modify delivery instructions such as drop-off details and address changes.
The AI assistant can now handle customer service tasks, including billing inquiries, payment issues, and questions regarding Audible or Prime subscriptions. These features are currently rolling out to customers in the United States.
Amazon reports that over 400 million consumers used Alexa for shopping over the last 12 months. The company also noted that usage of its agentic features has grown eightfold since the beginning of the year.
