Ken Paxton and James Talarico Trade Voter Fraud Accusations

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and State Representative James Talarico, who are competing in a U.S. Senate race, have traded allegations of voter fraud centered on residential registration discrepancies. The conflict escalated after investigations by ProPublica and The Texas Tribune revealed that Talarico voted in five elections using his parents' address between June 2022 and September 2024, despite having purchased a home during that period.

Paxton, who has aggressively pursued voter fraud cases during his tenure, accused Talarico of breaking state law during his 2022 run for the Texas House. In response, Talarico pointed to allegations that Paxton committed voter fraud by voting at an address where his estranged wife, State Senator Angela Paxton, claims he has not lived for two years.

Talarico's campaign provided records to support his residency requirements for the 2022 race but declined to comment on the subsequent voting discrepancies. Paxton's campaign maintains he is a lawful voter and has declined to answer detailed questions about his residency history.
