Delhi Legislative Assembly Sets Agenda for August Monsoon Session
Speaker Vijender Gupta announced the schedule and legislative agenda for the Delhi Legislative Assembly's sixth session, starting August 7, featuring CAG reports and three new bills.
The eighth Delhi Legislative Assembly will convene its sixth session for the monsoon period from August 7 to 11, 2026. Vijender Gupta, the Speaker of the assembly, announced the schedule and legislative agenda following a Business Advisory Committee meeting on August 6. The session was summoned by an order from Lieutenant Governor Tarlok Singh Sandhu on July 31 and includes scheduled sittings on August 7, 10, and 11.
Chief Minister and Finance Minister Rekha Gupta is set to table two Comptroller and Auditor General of India reports covering government accounts for the year ending March 31, 2023, and state finances for 2024-25. Additionally, Power Minister Ashish Sood will present notifications and a corrigendum regarding the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission. The assembly intends to introduce three bills: the Delhi (Right of Citizen to Time Bound Delivery of Services) Bill 2026, an amendment to the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board Act, and the repeal of the Bed and Breakfast Establishments Act.
To ensure security during the proceedings, the Assembly is installing hydraulic road blockers, reinforcing access-control points, and deploying a Quick Response Team from the Central Reserve Police Force. Entry will be primarily regulated through Gate Number 1, and legislative notices will be submitted digitally via the NeVA Portal.
