Alaska Air Expects FAA Certification of Boeing 737 MAX 10

Alaska Air expects the Federal Aviation Administration to certify the Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft by the end of September. Chief Operating Officer Jason Berry stated the airline plans to take delivery of its first aircraft next spring, with passenger service scheduled to begin between April and mid-May.

Following federal certification, the airline must spend several months certifying the aircraft's heads-up display for pilots. Berry described the timeline as sporting, noting that the company is not yet panicking despite the certification process being several years behind schedule.
