Bloom Energy Reports 20 Billion Dollar Backlog Amid AI Demand
Bloom Energy Corporation reported a $20 billion backlog driven by AI data center power demand and achieved profitability in the first half of 2026.
Bloom Energy Corporation reported a $20 billion backlog at the start of 2026, a surge driven primarily by the demand for off-grid power solutions to support the expansion of artificial intelligence data centers. The company's product backlog specifically grew 140% year-over-year to $6 billion, while the remaining $14 billion comprises service contracts designed to provide annuity-like revenue.
This growth follows a period of financial instability, with the company recording losses throughout 2024 and 2025. However, Bloom Energy Corporation returned to profitability in the first and second quarters of 2026. In a second-quarter update, the company noted that its backlog is currently growing faster than its revenues. The firm also stated it has acquired new customers that are not yet reflected in the official backlog figures.
