Photronics Shares Swing After Q3 Earnings Beat
Photronics shares surged 27% before retreating to a 4% gain following a fiscal third-quarter earnings report that beat analyst expectations.
Photronics experienced extreme stock volatility on Wednesday morning after reporting fiscal third-quarter 2026 results that exceeded analyst expectations. The company reported revenue of $216.0 million and adjusted earnings of $0.50 per share, triggering an initial share price surge of 27.1%.
Investors later cooled on the stock, causing it to retreat to a 4% gain. This shift followed a review of soft year-over-year comparisons and modest fourth-quarter guidance, with the company projecting revenue between $207 million and $227 million.
Despite manufacturing lines operating at full capacity and a record 44% of integrated circuit revenue coming from high-end work, the company continues to face a dry spell in new orders. Management attributed these challenges to product delays and geopolitical uncertainty.
