Elon Musk Plans $200 Million for 2026 Republican Midterms

Elon Musk is preparing to spend up to $200 million on Republican voter-turnout operations for the 2026 midterm elections.

Elon Musk is preparing to spend up to $200 million to support Republican candidates in the 2026 midterm elections. He intends to prioritize voter-turnout operations in highly competitive races, specifically targeting the Texas Senate contest between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico. Other potential funding targets include Senate races in Georgia, Ohio, and Maine.

This planned investment follows a period of significant spending by Musk, who contributed at least $288 million in 2024 and over $73 million in 2025 to various Republican causes and super PACs, including America PAC.

The funding arrives as the Republican Party maintains a substantial financial advantage over the Democratic Party. As of June, GOP party committees and caucus-aligned super PACs held approximately $657 million, nearly double the $334 million held by Democrats. Furthermore, the Republican National Committee holds $128 million, while the Democratic National Committee reports a net deficit of roughly $2 million.
