Nikkei 225 Gains 0.23% as Yamaha Motor Hits Highs

Japanese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, led by gains in banking, textiles, and real estate despite a high volume of declining stocks.

The Nikkei 225 index closed higher on Tuesday, recording a gain of 0.23%. The market rally was primarily driven by growth in the banking, textile, and real estate sectors.

Yamaha Motor Co Ltd led the session's top performers with a 13.40% share increase, reaching 52-week highs. Other notable gains included JEF United Chiba, which rose 11.44%, and Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., which saw an 8.19% increase. Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. also posted significant gains during the trading day.

Despite the overall index increase, market breadth was weak. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1,783 to 1,706. The worst performers of the session included NH Foods Ltd, AGC Inc, and Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd., all of which saw significant declines in share value.
