Fiat Unveils Modular Multiplay Concept at Paris Motor Show
Fiat revealed the Multiplay concept, a modular vehicle that transforms between a family MPV, an SUV, and a pickup truck.
At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Fiat S.p.A. unveiled the Multiplay, a 4.45-meter modular concept vehicle designed to blend the utility of a minivan, SUV, and pickup truck. The vehicle features a sliding rear module and a transforming C-pillar called Metamorfosi, which allows the car to switch from a six- or seven-seat family hauler into a four-seat pickup with an open cargo bed.
Interior and exterior versatility define the design. The cabin includes a Petsenger seat for children or pets and a Sunseat that converts the front passenger seat into a chaise longue. Externally, a rotating rear spoiler doubles as a bicycle rack. The vehicle utilizes a one-box design and high ride height to accommodate a large electric battery.
Designer Francois Leboine stated the project was in development for nearly two years. He explained that the goal was to revive the MPV category by combining its practicality with the emotional appeal of an SUV. Fiat clarified that the Multiplay is a design experiment and a laboratory of solutions for future mobility rather than a preview of a specific production model.
