Yankee Global Enterprises Secures $2.6 Billion Apollo Financing Deal
Yankee Global Enterprises entered a $2.6 billion financing agreement with Apollo Sports Capital to support growth and refinance existing debt.
Yankee Global Enterprises, the parent company of the New York Yankees, secured a $2.6 billion financing agreement with Apollo Sports Capital on August 11, 2026. The transaction, which combines debt and equity, aims to refinance existing debt and fund the franchise's future growth.
Under the terms of the deal, the Steinbrenner family retains full control of the team. However, the board of Yankee Global Enterprises will expand by one seat to include Al Tylis, the chief executive of Apollo Sports Capital. This agreement marks the largest investment in U.S. sports to date for Apollo Sports Capital.
Hal Steinbrenner, chairman of Yankee Global Enterprises, stated that the partnership allows the organization to explore strategic opportunities. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. served as the financial advisor to Yankee Global Enterprises for the transaction.
