House Committee Probes PFIPC for Using Official Government Plates

A House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee is investigating the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) after discovering the organization listed President Bola Tinubu and several senior government officials as board members. The list included the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The committee questioned Shehu Mohammed, Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), regarding the issuance of seven official vehicle number plates to the council. Investigators noted that the application documents contained irregularities and the council's mandate lacked official government security features.

Shehu Mohammed testified that the FRSC followed standard operating procedures. He stated the application, signed by Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, appeared legitimate because the PFIPC operated a website on a federal government domain and maintained an office within the Federal Secretariat complex in Abuja.
