Activision Tests Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Beta
Activision conducted an early access beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 featuring new weapons, maps, and a campaign mission.
Activision conducted an early access beta test for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 during the penultimate weekend of August 2026. The test introduced a variety of new equipment, including the Han 86 assault rifle and KG-7 Vulcan sniper rifle, as well as field upgrades such as razor-wire traps and smoke walls.
Players tested a new 10v10 mode called Kill Block across several maps, including Silkworm, a South Korean cityscape, and Rooftops, based in New York. In a first for a series beta, the company included a campaign mission titled Entrenched, which features combat against North Korean troops.
The title replaces the omni-movement system used in Black Ops 6 with a more fluid movement alternative. The upcoming release faces market competition from the indie shooter Wardogs and the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 scheduled for mid-November.
