Maple Leaf Foods Recalls 12,036 Pounds of Smoked Bacon

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a Class I recall on July 24, 2026, for approximately 12,036 pounds of not ready-to-eat smoked bacon produced by Maple Leaf Foods Inc. The agency designated the recall as Class I, the highest risk level, because the products were "imported from Canada without the benefit of import reinspection into the United States," preventing the government from verifying if the meat met federal safety standards.

The recall affects 12-ounce vacuum packages of Royale Natural Applewood Smoked ALL NATURAL Uncured Bacon and TOP VALU Uncured Hardwood Smoked Bacon. These products were manufactured between June 9 and June 15, 2026, with sell-by dates ranging from September 1 to September 7, 2026.

The affected bacon was distributed to retailers and grocery distributors in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, specifically including Grocery Outlet stores. While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, the FSIS advises consumers to discard the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
