Nigel Farage and Liberal Democrats Clash Over May Altercation

Nigel Farage and Liberal Democrat MPs are disputing an alleged physical altercation that occurred during the state opening of Parliament in May.

A dispute has emerged between Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, and Liberal Democrat MPs regarding a physical altercation during the state opening of Parliament on May 13. Caroline Voaden, the Liberal Democrat MP for South Devon, stated she is "shocked and bloody angry" and claims she is still waiting for an apology Farage was required to write to her.

Liberal Democrat deputy leader Daisy Cooper alleged that Farage "physically shoved" a female MP, an action that reportedly prompted a challenge from a male colleague. Reform UK officials have denied these accounts, asserting that the Liberal Democrat MP was the one acting aggressively. Reform Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick dismissed the accusations as "pathetic Westminster debates."

The row resurfaced after Farage claimed he skipped Chancellor John Healey's Budget speech to avoid a potential "physical altercation" in the Commons. Farage alleged his seat reservation prayer card had been removed, though a House of Commons spokesperson clarified the card was removed because it had an invalid time stamp.
