Cairndale Farm Sells for $3.35 Million in South Australia

The Cairndale farm, a 738-hectare property northwest of Keith, South Australia, sold for $3,350,000 during a spring auction at the Keith Football Clubrooms. Ray White Rural SA managed the sale, which began with no floor bids, leading auctioneer Geoff Schell to initiate the process with a $3.3 million vendor bid. The property includes three centre pivot irrigation circles, a 278 megalitre water licence, and updated sheep handling facilities and homestead renovations.

This sale launched the spring selling season for Ray White Rural, which has 10 more auctions scheduled. In the same region, the Avondale property in Keith is currently seeking expressions of interest through Elders, with a deadline of October 16.

Contrastingly, an online auction for arable land in Tickera on the northern Yorke Peninsula failed to meet its reserve price on September 16. Managed by Wardle Co. Real Estate via the Openn Negotiation platform, two bidders pushed the price for a 188-hectare parcel to $1,351,000. This valuation of $2,905 per acre is significantly lower than regional sales from the previous year, which exceeded $5,000 per acre. Wardle Co. Real Estate is also seeking expressions of interest by September 30 for a three-year lease of 693 hectares at Tickera starting February 1.
