Kushner and Iger Plan to Triple Lakers Valuation

Joshua Kushner and Bob Iger aim to increase the Los Angeles Lakers valuation to $30 billion through international expansion and higher ticket prices.

A buyer group led by Joshua Kushner and Bob Iger has presented a financial strategy to investors designed to increase the valuation of the Los Angeles Lakers from $12.5 billion to at least $30 billion over the next decade. The group acquired the team from Mark Landsberger and projects that annual revenue will reach $1.6 billion by 2037.

The growth plan relies on international expansion, the acquisition of local media rights, and a significant increase in ticket pricing. To drive these gains, the group intends to reclaim 6,000 season tickets currently held by brokers, which would raise the average single-game ticket price from $217 to $361. The strategy also targets up to $75 million in new sponsorship revenue.

These financial projections assume that streaming and television rights will double in value by the expiration of the current NBA media pact. Under more optimistic assumptions, the group suggests the long-term valuation of the franchise could eventually reach $62 billion.
