Global Islamic Scholars Condemn Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia
Islamic leaders from over 70 countries condemned Houthi militia strikes on Saudi airports and civilian infrastructure, supporting Saudi Arabia's right to defend its sovereignty.
A collective of 176 Islamic scholars, ministers, and heads of institutions from more than 70 countries issued a formal condemnation of attacks launched by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia. The group specifically targeted strikes on Saudi airports and critical civilian infrastructure, describing the actions as violations of international law.
In communications sent to Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, the signatories characterized the militia's actions as an affront to the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah. The leaders expressed their support for the right of Saudi Arabia to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens from further aggression.
The group called on the international community to implement decisive measures to hold the Iran-backed militia accountable. They argued that such steps are necessary to prevent continued threats to regional security and to ensure the safety of pilgrims visiting the holy sites.
