Research indicates that many CEOs mistakenly apply early successes from software development and contact centers as a universal playbook. These specific sectors benefited from pre-existing structured workflows that facilitated integration, a condition not present in all business functions.
Data published in July shows that organizations redesigning their workflows are 5.3 times more likely to report enterprise-level value, with a success rate of 32 percent compared to 6 percent for those that did not. The analysis concludes that leadership must move beyond simple optimization to redesign work processes, align incentives, and clarify employee roles to overcome resistance and realize legitimate payoffs.
