Apple Releases Final Beta Cycles for iOS 27

Apple released the sixth developer betas of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 on August 17, 2026, followed by the fourth public beta for its entire ecosystem—including macOS, tvOS, and watchOS—on August 18.

These updates focus on the integration of Siri AI, a rebuilt assistant powered by Apple Intelligence and new Apple Foundation Models. The system now offers on-screen awareness, personal context, and deeper app integration, including a dedicated Siri mode in the Camera app for Visual Intelligence. The software also introduces the Liquid Glass design interface with a transparency slider for readability and performance optimizations for battery efficiency and app launches.

Recent public beta updates include bug fixes and visual refinements. macOS 27 Golden Gate received a new wallpaper and redesigned stoplight window controls. Other changes across the platforms include a revised Preview icon on the Mac, updated iOS notification animations, and a resolution for a user interface bug affecting Pinned Messages. These test builds precede the full public release scheduled for September.
