Ajit Doval Projects India GDP to Reach USD 38 Trillion

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval projected that India's GDP will grow from its current USD 4.015 trillion to USD 38 trillion over the next 20 years. Speaking as the chief guest at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee convocation ceremony on September 19, 2026, Doval described the period leading up to 2047 as a "wonderful Amrit Kaal" and stated the country is moving toward a "magnificent future."

During the ceremony, Doval urged graduating students to be courageous and innovative, asserting that leadership requires the ability to make decisions and build one's own doctrine. He shared success principles learned from a Sherpa during a previous posting in Sikkim, emphasizing the necessity of knowing one's current position, the intended destination, and the specific path to achieve those goals.

IIT Roorkee awarded Doval an Honoris Causa degree for his national service during the event. The ceremony was presided over by Harish Salve, chairman of the IIT Roorkee Board of Governors, and attended by Chief of Defence Staff General N.S. Raja Subramani.
