Xiaomi Releases First Non-Google Stable Android 17 Update

Xiaomi began the global rollout of HyperOS 3.3, making it the first manufacturer besides Google to release a stable version of Android 17.

Xiaomi began the global rollout of HyperOS 3.3 on July 15, 2026, becoming the first manufacturer other than Google to release a stable version of Android 17. The update is currently available for the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra in Europe and global regions. Users of the Xiaomi 15T Pro are receiving the update through the limited Mi Pilot testing channel.

This release serves as a technical foundation rather than a feature update, prioritizing system stability and the June 2026 security patch. Due to the major operating system version jump, download sizes are substantial, ranging between 7.5GB and 10GB depending on the device model.

The company is using this rollout to prepare for the debut of HyperOS 4, which is expected in August alongside the Xiaomi 18 series. The upcoming version is slated to introduce a full visual overhaul and new AI features to supported devices in September.
