INEC Concludes PVC Collection for Ekiti Governorship Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission closed voter card collection for the June 20 Ekiti State Governorship Election with a 97.1 percent collection rate.
The Independent National Electoral Commission announced the completion of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) collection for the Ekiti State Governorship Election scheduled for June 20, 2026. Following the suspension of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise on May 15, the number of registered voters in the state increased from 987,647 in 2023 to 1,059,360 in 2026.
Total PVC collections reached 1,028,929, representing a 97.1 percent collection rate. The commission also processed and printed 14,406 replacement cards for voters who had lost or damaged their original documents.
Officials confirmed that downloadable copies of voter cards were unavailable for this cycle due to incomplete technology infrastructure. The commission expects this digital option to be available for the Osun Governorship election in August 2026 and the 2027 General Election.
