Bharat Coking Coal Limited reported a consolidated net loss of ₹68.09 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. This represents a significant downturn from the ₹176.87 crore net profit the company recorded during the same period the previous year.
The company's financial decline is linked to a 27.4% year-on-year drop in raw coal production, which fell to 6.56 million tonnes, and a 14% decrease in offtake. Revenue from operations declined 3.6% to ₹3,587.27 crore, while total expenses increased to ₹3,826.31 crore.
Following the July 22 announcement, company shares crashed between 7% and 8% on the National Stock Exchange, reaching an intraday low of ₹34.40. The stock has maintained a negative trend since its listing in January, losing approximately 16% of its value over the past month.
