Sharp Launches AI Server Sales in Japan

Sharp Corporation has started accepting orders for AI servers in Japan, utilizing an advanced server platform from Nvidia Inc. The company aims to achieve 250 billion yen in domestic AI server sales by fiscal 2030.

Under the current business model, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd manages the production of the servers, while Sharp handles post-sale operations and maintenance. The product is specifically marketed to local governments and Japanese companies that want to deploy independent AI models while maintaining strict data security.

Sharp expects the Japanese AI server market to grow significantly, rising from 900 billion yen in fiscal 2025 to 7 trillion yen by fiscal 2035. The company is currently evaluating how to integrate this new business line with its existing home appliance operations to support future overseas expansion.
