Seyi Makinde Urges Nigerians to Collect Voter Cards

Seyi Makinde urged Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards starting October 9 in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Oyo State Governor and Allied Peoples Movement presidential candidate Seyi Makinde urged Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to prepare for the 2027 general elections. In a video shared on X, Makinde described the PVC as the voters' power and encouraged citizens to participate in the electoral process regardless of their candidate preference.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) scheduled the nationwide collection of PVCs to begin on October 9, 2026. INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan announced the date following a Continuous Voter Registration exercise that added over 10.7 million new registrations. This increase brings the total national register of voters to more than 103 million.
