Israeli Forces Kill Palestinians in Gaza Despite Ceasefire
Israeli Security Forces killed several Palestinians and struck displacement tents in Gaza between November 5 and 6, 2026, violating a ceasefire in effect since October 2025.
The Israeli Security Forces conducted a series of strikes and shootings across the Gaza Strip on November 5 and 6, 2026, resulting in multiple Palestinian deaths. On November 5, a drone strike hit a displacement tent west of Al-Zawayda, killing Abd Walid Matar. This attack coincided with artillery shelling in eastern Gaza City, naval fire, and a demolition east of Khan Younis.
Casualties continued on November 6, when 15-year-old Mohammed Nidal Barbakh was shot in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis. Two other Palestinians, medical student Sara Abu Jiyab and Nabil Hamad, died in Gaza City from wounds sustained in previous strikes on the Islamic University campus and the Al-Shati refugee camp. Additionally, Israeli forces opened heavy fire toward displacement tents northwest of Rafah.
These actions occur despite a ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 10, 2025. The Ministry of Health of Gaza reports that ceasefire violations have killed 1,602 Palestinians. The broader conflict since October 2023 has killed over 74,000 Palestinians and destroyed approximately 90% of civilian infrastructure. Separately, medical sources reported 260 cases of congenital anomalies among newborns in the first nine months of 2026, attributing the surge to maternal malnutrition and environmental pollutants.
