Akume and Wike Launch 2027 Re-election Campaign for Tinubu

George Akume and Nyesom Wike have initiated grassroots mobilization efforts in North Central Nigeria and Rivers State to secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike have launched coordinated mobilization efforts to support the 2027 re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. The initiatives target the North Central geopolitical zone and Rivers State to maximize the vote total for the All Progressives Congress.

In Abuja, Akume and National Coordinator Sonny S.T. Echono inaugurated the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Movement. The group plans to hold town hall meetings across 19 senatorial districts and a grand rally and medical outreach program in Lafia on October 10, 2026. To strengthen the party's regional standing, the movement is establishing a Reconciliation Committee to resolve internal grievances and collaborating with the Minister of Information to increase public awareness.

Simultaneously, Nyesom Wike held a consultative meeting in the Akpor Kingdom of Rivers State to consolidate support for the administration. Wike pledged his commitment to the president, stating he would resign as minister if the administration fails to win the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State. The All Progressives Congress national leadership has formally endorsed these mobilization efforts.
