Adidas Sues White Fox Boutique Over Four-Stripe Design

Adidas filed a lawsuit against White Fox Boutique alleging that the retailer's four-stripe clothing design infringes on its iconic three-stripe trademark.

Adidas filed a lawsuit in the Federal Court of Australia against Sydney-based fast-fashion retailer White Fox Boutique, alleging trademark infringement. The sportswear company claims that White Fox's use of a four-stripe design on its clothing is "deceptively similar" to its own three-stripe trademark and represents an attempt to trade off its global reputation.

Adidas is seeking court orders to stop the production of the four-stripe apparel and is demanding the handover of profits earned from the sales of those products. The litigation comes as Adidas continues to defend its trademarks globally following previous legal losses against Thom Browne.

White Fox Boutique denies the allegations, arguing that the four stripes are purely decorative and distinct from the three-stripe branding. The retailer's legal team noted that other fast-fashion brands utilize similar designs. Justice Ian Jackman has scheduled the hearing for early 2027. White Fox recently reported $542 million in revenue for the year ending June 2025.
