Ubisoft Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Sells 3 Million Copies

Ubisoft released a full remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced that has sold over 3 million copies since its July 9 launch.

Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on July 9, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The title is a comprehensive remake rather than a remaster, utilizing the Anvil Engine to rebuild core systems, combat, and stealth from the ground up. This approach was necessary because the original 2013 code could not be salvaged.

The remake introduces modernized parkour, overhauled swordplay, and new story missions featuring Blackbeard. To streamline the experience, the developer removed the modern-day storyline and eliminated instant-fail tailing missions. The game also features updated visuals and audio.

The title has become a commercial success, selling more than 3 million copies by July 17, 2026. In response to this milestone, the company announced plans to implement a New Game Plus mode, although a specific release date for the feature has not been established.
