Lagos State Begins 35-Day Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway Rehabilitation
The Lagos State Government is launching a 35-day project to repair damaged sections of the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway to improve safety and festive season traffic flow.
The Lagos State Government will begin a 35-day rehabilitation project this Thursday to repair damaged sections of the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway. The works target the stretch from Bonny Camp to Admiralty Way Junction and areas surrounding Victoria Garden City. Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure Olufemi Daramola announced that the state will implement traffic diversion arrangements to minimize congestion and ensure safety ahead of increased festive season traffic.
The corridor serves as a critical artery for access to the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the Dangote Refinery, and the Lekki Free Zone. This project follows the completion of previous expressway phases and supports broader infrastructure goals, including the Green Line rail project intended to connect Marina to the planned Lekki International Airport.
During stakeholder engagements, the Victoria Island and Ikoyi Residents Association requested urgent drainage upgrades to prevent flooding in the area. The association's chairman, Prince Akin Fadoju, emphasized the need for these interventions to complement the road repairs.
