Alaska Airlines Increases Paine Field Capacity by 50 Percent

Alaska Airlines is increasing its seat capacity at Paine Field in Everett, Washington, by 50 percent starting this fall and continuing through summer 2027. The expansion aims to provide more travel options for residents of Snohomish County and North Seattle, reducing the necessity for passengers to travel south for flights.

As part of the growth plan, the airline will launch a new nonstop route to San Jose, California, in spring 2027. Horizon Air will operate this route with two daily flights. Alaska Airlines is also increasing service to Los Angeles and Portland to twice daily, deploying larger Boeing 737 aircraft specifically for the Los Angeles route.

Further capacity increases will be applied to existing routes serving San Diego and San Francisco. These combined changes represent a significant scaling of operations at the Everett airport over the next two years.
