Sakai Chemical Industry Co. has transitioned its core business from producing traditional geisha face makeup powders to supplying raw materials for the artificial intelligence sector. The Osaka-based company now produces chemical compounds used in capacitors for AI data centers, which store electrical charges in server components.

By applying its long-term experience in creating ultra-fine and uniform particles, the company has converted what was previously a side business into a primary growth driver. Production capacity is currently filling rapidly to meet the increasing demand for these specialized materials as AI infrastructure expands.
