Cornwall Councillor Sarah Good Enters Mayoral Race

Cornwall City Councillor Sarah Good filed nomination papers to run for mayor in the upcoming municipal election on Friday, submitting her documents just before the 2 p.m. deadline. Good is challenging incumbent Mayor Justin Towndale for the seat.

Good first announced her intention to run in March but withdrew from the race in May. At the time, she cited a desire to focus on her family and business, as well as the impact of online harassment. She later decided to re-enter the race after reflecting on her decision and attending the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference in Ottawa.

Her campaign priorities focus on housing, affordability, and making progress on the Port Lands to foster reparations and reconciliation. Good has served on the council since 2022, when she was the top-performing successful candidate in that election cycle.
