HP Launches OmniBook 5 AI PC to Rival MacBook Neo
HP released the OmniBook 5 14 AI PC starting at $699, featuring 42-hour battery life to compete with Apple's MacBook Neo.
HP launched the OmniBook 5 14, a budget-friendly AI PC starting at $699.99 designed to compete directly with Apple's MacBook Neo. The laptop features a thin aluminum chassis and claims up to 42 hours of battery life during local 1080p video playback, significantly exceeding the 16-hour rating of the MacBook Neo.
Display options for the OmniBook 5 include three OLED panels, with a high-end 2.5K HDR OLED touchscreen offering 620 nits peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. Base configurations include an Intel Core 5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD, while higher-end models offer a Core 7 350 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. Connectivity includes an HDMI 2.1 port and two full-function USB-C ports.
Alongside the OmniBook 5, HP announced the ProBook 4 G2iS, a slim 14-inch business laptop weighing 2.59 pounds. The ProBook features Intel Wildcat Lake processors, up to 32GB of RAM, and a 3K 120Hz OLED display. Both devices will be available through HP's website and Best Buy, with the OmniBook 5 launching in October and the ProBook 4 G2iS expected between October and December.
