Clarkson PLC Shares Surge on Record Half-Year Profits
Clarkson PLC shares rose over 13% after the shipping services firm reported record first-half profits and raised its full-year financial outlook.
Shares of Clarkson PLC surged more than 13% on Monday following a report of record financial performance for the six months ending June 30, 2026. The British shipping services firm announced that underlying profit before taxation rose to £61.5 million, a significant increase from the £39.4 million reported during the same period the previous year.
Company leadership attributed the record growth to strong trading conditions and geopolitical turbulence in the Strait of Hormuz. Based on this first-half performance, the company forecast that full-year results would be "materially ahead of market expectations."
In response to the strong earnings, Clarkson PLC increased its interim dividend to 35p per share. This action continues a 24-year trend of consecutive dividend increases for the firm.
