United States Missiles Strike Tanker at Kharg Island Terminal

United States missiles struck the tanker M/T Belma at Kharg Island and launched a barrage of attacks across Iran's coastal Bushehr province.

The United States military launched a series of missile strikes on Friday targeting strategic sites in Iran. A missile strike hit the M/T Belma, a tanker sailing under the flag of Curacao, while the vessel was docked at the oil export terminal on Kharg Island. The ship was empty at the time of the attack.

Ehsan Jahanian, the Deputy Governor of Bushehr Province, stated that the strike was an attempt to prevent the ship from docking. In addition to the attack on the tanker, the U.S. military launched a new barrage of strikes across the coastal Bushehr province. This region is of significant strategic importance as it houses a nuclear power plant.
