Indian National Congress Issues Whip for August Parliament Sessions

The Indian National Congress issued a whip to its Members of Parliament in both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, directing them to be present from August 10 to August 12, 2026. The party is preparing for discussions on the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) Amendment Bill and the potential reintroduction of the Constitution Amendment Bill on delimitation.

Chief Whip Jairam Ramesh instructed members to remain in the House from 11:00 am until adjournment to support the party's position. Congress also requested that allies within the INDIA bloc ensure their MPs are present for these sessions.

Despite these party preparations, the minister of state for parliamentary affairs did not include either bill in the tentative government business listing for the upcoming week.
