Clorox First-Quarter Revenue Rises 33 Percent to $1.91 Billion
The Clorox Company reported first-quarter earnings that beat analyst expectations, driven by the GOJO acquisition and recovery from previous inventory drawdowns.
The Clorox Company reported first-quarter revenue of $1.91 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $1.55, exceeding analyst expectations. Revenue grew 33% compared to the prior-year quarter, a surge the company attributed to the GOJO acquisition and a recovery from inventory drawdowns linked to last year's ERP transition.
Despite the revenue growth, the company saw its gross margin compress by 130 basis points to 40.4%. This decline resulted from increased costs in logistics, manufacturing, and commodities. CEO Linda Rendle stated that the company delivered these results through "strong execution and timing benefits" while managing ongoing input cost pressures.
Clorox maintained its fiscal year 2027 adjusted EPS guidance between $5.70 and $6.00, though leadership expects results to fall toward the lower end of that range. The company projects annual net sales growth of 13% to 14%, with organic sales expected to rise between 3.5% and 4.5%.
