UAW Members Reject John Deere Contract Extension Proposal

United Auto Workers members employed by John Deere voted on Sunday to reject a proposal that would have extended their current labor contract by two years. The proposal sought to delay full contract renegotiations until 2029, but the rejection ensures the current agreement remains in effect until its original expiration in October 2027.

John Deere officials expressed disappointment in the vote. The company stated it proposed the extension because it believed added stability and certainty would benefit employees, customers, and the business within a challenging environment.

Both parties will now return to the bargaining table in October 2027 to negotiate a new contract.
