Nissan Expands U.S. Production for 2027 Rogue Hybrid

Nissan Motor is expanding its United States production capacity to support the launch of the 2027 Rogue crossover and the introduction of its e-Power series-hybrid technology. To meet demand, the company plans to implement a third production shift at its assembly plants in Tennessee and Mississippi. This move could increase annual U.S. production to approximately 1 million units, up from 487,000 in 2025.

The 2027 Rogue Hybrid features a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine acting as a generator for a 1.67 kWh lithium-ion battery, powering dual electric motors with a combined 225 hp and an estimated 38 MPG. Sales begin in fall 2026 with the SR grade, followed by other trims in early 2027. Pricing for the SV trim varies by report, with estimates ranging from $35,490 to $37,065 including destination charges, while the Platinum trim reaches $45,065.

While the gas-powered Rogue launches in the spring, Nissan will initially import hybrid models from Japan before beginning domestic manufacturing next year. This strategy is part of a global turnaround plan to reach 1 million annual sales in the U.S. and China by the 2030 financial year. The company aims to produce 80% of its U.S. sales domestically by 2030 without constructing new factories.
