Cambridgeshire Council Schedules Extensive Road Closures for Infrastructure Works

Cambridgeshire County Council is implementing multiple road closures across the region through September to facilitate utility and infrastructure projects.

Cambridgeshire County Council has scheduled a series of road closures beginning August 3, 2026, to allow for essential infrastructure and utility maintenance. The disruptions include several long-term projects, most notably the full closure of the Stukeley Bypass in both directions until September 20 and the closure of Herne Road in Ramsey St Marys until September 1.

Various utility providers are managing the projects. Anglian Water is conducting works in Tydd St Giles, March, and Abbotsley, while Cambridge Water Company is operating on Herne Road. Additionally, Cadent Gas is performing works on Rampton Road in Willingham.

Other maintenance activities include developer-led projects in Sawtry, stud replacements in Dullingham, and gully cleaning in Burwell. The council noted that the closures vary by scope, with some being partial or overnight and others remaining full closures for all vehicles.
