Pauline Hanson Calls for Ban on Islamic Migration in Perth

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson addressed a Leadership Matters breakfast event at Crown Perth on July 21, 2026, where she called for a ban on migration from radical Islamic countries to protect Australians from terrorism and antisemitism. During the event, hosted by The West Australian, Hanson rejected claims that her position aligns with the White Australia policy, though she previously attributed European migration issues to that policy's 1973 abolition.

Addressing several hundred attendees, Hanson criticized the Australian government for its lack of support for domestic manufacturing and its ban on live sheep exports, which she argued prioritized animal activists over Western Australian interests. She praised Donald Trump's deportation of illegal immigrants and defended her recent visits to the United Kingdom and Europe, including meetings with Tommy Robinson.

Outside the venue, approximately 80 protesters from the WA Greens and WA Socialists gathered to oppose her appearance. Following the speech, Hanson expressed a desire to collaborate with WA Opposition Leader Basil Zempilas regarding an August 29 state by-election in Secret Harbour, where she is campaigning for candidate Luke Herdegen. Hanson also stated she is open to the most qualified party member serving as prime minister, while asserting her own capability for the role.
