Miami-Dade Election Office Tests Voting Equipment Before Primaries

The Office of the Supervisor of Elections of Miami-Dade County performed a public Logic and Accuracy test of voting machines and auditing systems on July 29, 2026. Led by Alina Garcia, the testing took place in Doral to verify that equipment correctly captures and reports votes through the use of test ballots with predetermined results.

Officials opened the process to candidates, media, and political party representatives to maintain transparency and security before the August 18 primary elections. Garcia stated that the testing gives the public a chance to see the steps taken to ensure results are accurate and that election integrity remains the highest priority.

This verification process serves as a precursor to the county's early voting period, which is scheduled to run from August 3 through August 16.
